I was downtown today for a meeting and wanted to "scout" for a photo that i've wanted to take for a while. There are three identical bridges connecting downtown to the North Side that make a good panoramic shot. The weather sucked as usual, so i just let off a few test shots to check my positioning relative to the landscape. The photos came out with an interesting look.

I'm definitely going back on a nice day. I want to get the same shots from across the river facing the city too.

    Word.

Maybe it's just this shitty monitor in the school library but the water and buildings look really dark. That picture would be awesome to edit up.

When I go back Ill bring my tripod and a polarizer... that way i can get multiple exposures and kill the reflections on the water.

I've never successfully done an HDR but I would really like to get the hang of it.

Me neither. I've got some pics of Detroit at night and the skyline is awesome but the foreground sucks. I did a 30 sec. exposure on one shot and the skyline is washed out but the foreground is awesome. If I get some time to make an HDR of the picture it will own all.

Also, I'd only bother redoing the last shot. If you cut the pic down the middle both sides are almost a mirror image of each other, which makes it cool. The first picture has too much going on towards the left side.
