    9mm

.40 is a little too snappy in a subcompact.

    BTW - i bought a Kahr CW9 over a CW40.

I am a bit biased though - i don't care for the .40 at all.

Thinking of selling my G23 for $400 (holster wear and stuff) and getting one of these:

    P239-9-SAS (9mm)

    Code:
    Caliber 9mm
    Trigger Pull DAK™ 7 lbs
    Overall Length 6.60"
    Overall Height 5.20"
    Overall Width 1.20"
    Barrel Length 3.6"
    Sight Radius 5.7"
    SIGLITE® Night Sights
    Weight w/ Mag 27.5 oz
    Mag Capacity 8+1 Rounds
I'm not really feeling my G23 lately... I dislike the feel of it.

9mm. It's a cheaper ammo and the ballistic differences are moot.

9mm. I don't like .40. My HP notwithstanding. .40 is too snappy.

9mm is what i carry with my pf9. 147gr. are supposed to be the best weight for short barrels.

hmmm, going completely against the general consensus here, but I carry a .40 G27 daily.

It's amazing how things have changed. A few years ago, NO ONE carried 9mm due to any number of reasons (too small, over-penetration, no stopping power, blah blah blah). And now everyone recommends it? What changed? :dunno:

Or is this specific for subcompacts and .40/.45 are still the caliber of choice in all other situations?

New bullet technology leveling the terminal ballistics of the calibers. Good ammo in each caliber will all penetrate and expand well.

Does anyone own (or has anyone shot) a Kahr PM9? It's a 6+1 thing, and for a 9mm that seems woefully short of rounds. You're usually looking at at least 10 in the magazine for a 9mm. Is it a single stack mag?

Also it's much cheaper for me to shoot 200 rounds in a day in 9mm than in .40 S&W.

It's a decent gun but the trigger is meh and honestly it kind of hurts to shoot.

Like all compact carry pistols they usually hurt the hand after continued shooting.

Compacts or sub-compacts? Unless I've got iron hands I've never had any of my compacts "hurt" after repeat shooting. The one subcompact I own does after awhile... more of a tingly feeling.

Yes it's a single stack. My CW9 is 7+1. I love that gun.
