    yes'm, i had a 96 avenger before this one...
    i never took pics of my current engine bay stock because it only stayed stock for a short time :)

    hardly, i run 2 seconds better than stock, & will outhandle most cars (including an s2000) in auto-x.

    back to stock exhaust because i'm waiting for dual catbacks to be run.
    my warrenty is up the beginning of august, which means i get to have some real fun ;)

    next month = 5speed swap, twin turbo, & true dual exhaust.
    turbo's in my garage waiting....my friend in north carolina has access to the tranny parts & a friend of his does mandrel bending. sooo i just gotta drive down there next month & get the turbo/exhaust piping done. install the stuff. & drive home happy ;)

    i guess you like being unique, because god knows how much fucking $ you dumped into that car, thats besides the point, i like the way it looks on the outside a lil bit 2 ricey in the inside, but whenu hit 13's or lower in 1/4 u'll have all the respect you want from me :big grin:

    yep. t-minus 2 weeks.
    i shall be the first v6 avenger with a 5speed. & the first turbo'd v6 avener as well. custom t/t owns me.
    too bad theres no aftermarket internals for the 2.5l engines...i can't push it to more than psi. & to do more i'd hafta have custom internals made...:sad2:
    but oh well, thats the price you pay i guess.

    What are you talking about there's no aftermarket internals?

    What do you think the guys who bore their cars over do? They just find the right sized pistons (JE, Wiseco?) for the compression ratio they need. Rods (Eagle, Crower?) are the same way. Just because nobody offers a kit doesn't mean it isn't out there. Shit, you're installing a custom twin turbo kit, surely you can scrounge up bottom end stuff.

    All the rest (overboring, porting, knife edging, balancing, etc) can be handled by a machine shop.

    When it comes to internal engine work you can go as far as you want to go with any piston engine, assuming the block can handle the stress. Internal work is expensive though, but it isn't like you aren't going all out anyway.

    Rebuild your bottom end with some low comp pistons and beefed up rods and you'll be able to run as much boost as your fuel system can handle. Find a stand alone ECU, install bigger/more injectors, beefier fuel pump and you'll be good to go.

    It's a lot of work, but that's what it takes. If you're going to go all out, better do it right or you'll throw a rod through the block like my buddy with the Neon R/T did when he installed a Super 16G. He rebuilt the the engine with better parts and before it was broken in he was running 13's, in a fucking Neon.

    Nice Avenger. But in my opinion, it looks waaay better without the headlight covers. Also..why is the engine bay trim turqouise and the interior trim blue??? Not too wild about turqouise. Doesnt Goodyear make blue hoses for american cars?? Otherwise...thats the best avenger I'VE seen.

    speed as of right now...

    Mike, can the V-6 auto beat an i4 5spd?

    I have raced my girlfriend in her v-6, and won every time. Albiet not by much.

    How did you get your v-6 two seconds faster than stock?

    I'm really interested in building her car up ass a nice little silent sleeper. That is when you make money racing.

    don't get into the i4 5speed v.s. v6 auto debate. it'll never end & never have an answer. but at carlisle we dyno'd one of each, & the v6 auto with i/e beat the i4 with i/e by 20whp.

    i'm assuming her cars stock...?

    start with an intake, then an underdrive pulley, then a superchip, then a full catback, bore the throttle body, port the upper plenum. transgo shift kit & tranny cooler. mabye a torque converter. & that should dyno around 50whp over stock. with our cars 20whp is roughly .5 in the quarter. that shift kit'll give some gooooood crisp shifts. with stripped interior & 14 or 15" wheels it'd run high 15's in the 1/4.

    i'm just poor :sad2: :p

    i'll stick with the lowest psi the turbo's can operate at for now...9psi. even with that its 150+hp more than i have now.
    run stock injectors for a while. once i upgrade those, & build the bottom. its really so unlimited. my 255lph fuel pump can supply quite a bit of fuel :p

    yeah, i don't use headlight covers anymore. the engine bay is turquoise because i like turquoise, its my fav color. & i've never seen someone else who had it in their engine bay. i think the colors are close enough together where they'd go ok :dunno:
