Hey, I was wondering if anyone else has modded their honda and had some suggestions on what I could do to increase my overall hp, but more lowend hp than highend.

Ive got a 99 accord 4cyl 16 valve. (not vtech which is gay). I tossed in an intake and a new suspension (and tires). I plan on putting in a turbo in about a year. What are the best things I can do for this car in the way of upgrades? I was thinking new pulleys or an ignition system or maybe a new throttle body.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.. thanks.

p.s. lookin to spend anywhere from 0-500$ on the next part.

Bore it and stroke it, or install a small turbo. Maybe try to find a junker with a V6 in good condition and swap it in. That's pretty much it.

BTW: VTEC only increases high-RPM power, so not having it makes no difference to you.

I hear each sticker you put on adds 5 horsepower.

I heard 8-10 if the primary color on the sticker was yellow.

I don't have another 4-5k to buy another car. I could probably sell this one for about 7k, but id probably just buy a v6 vtech so id have to put another few thousand into it which I don't have. So I am just gonna toss some new parts into this one till I graduate and can get a new car.

I was thinking about an intake manifold but I can't find one that is street legal for my car. Back to the drawing board!

There's no such thing as an intake manifold that's "street legal". Either it passes safety and emissions tests or it doesn't, and if your engine's emission control system (O2 sensors, engine computer, airflow/pressure sensor) is working halfway correctly, then it will pass emissions no matter what you bolt on it, because it will adjust itself automatically.

I was looking at a Venom Intake manifold and the dude said it wasnt street legal because it did not have an O2 sensor. But they don't make them for accords. I assume he meant that it would not pass emissions. It would be a pain in the dick to have to swap them out everytime i needed an emissions test.

  11. Intakes don't have O2 sensors. They go in the exhaust.

Stop listening to "the dude". If he wasn't bullshitting you, then he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
