Battery was changed 2 years ago along with the alternator. But for some reason, it randomly shuts off. What do you think I should do, apart from never buying American?

I was going to do that, but I wanted to have an initial idea, before I get rip off by them.

Its likely the fuel pump, if it has never been replaced. All of the late 90's GM trucks are notorius for this, although i have never heard of it being intermittent.

Also, get over it... it's a 10 year old car. They all break down at some point (asian/european/Domestic)

Both probable causes have been mentioned, the ignition switch and fuel pump both went out on my mom's 99.

Well, first of all, is it slowly dying electrically, or is the motor start to stumble and stop running, but you still have proper voltage, etc?

does it has a crank sensor?

that failed intermittently on my jeep, so computer would kill the motor.
