Silva came in a bit lighter than usual. I hope he delivers a great performance.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday returns for a second sold-out event at the Bell Centre in Montreal. UFC 97 "Redemption" is headlined by a UFC middleweight title defense pitting current champion Anderson Silva against fellow Brazilian Thales Leites.

Somewhat surprisingly, the champion stepped on the scale at 182 pounds, a little light for the man who has easily moved up to challenge fighters at 205 pounds. His opponent, Leites, was dead on at 185 pounds.

In the co-main event, neither former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell nor his opponent, former Pride champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, had any trouble making weight. Both tipped the scales at 206 pounds.

Preliminary bout fighter David Bielkheden weighed in at 157 pounds for his lightweight contest with Mark Bocek. He was given time to drop one pound, as there is a one pound allowance for non-title bouts.

    UFC 97 Main Card Bouts:
-Anderson Silva (182) vs. Thales Leites (185)
-Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (206) vs. Chuck Liddell (206)
-Cheick Kongo (232) vs. Antoni Hardonk (249)
-Luiz Cane (206) vs. Steve Cantwell (205)
-Brian Stann (206) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (204)

    UFC 97 Preliminary Bouts:
-Eliot Marshall (205) vs. Vinny Magalhaes (204)
    -Denis Kang (185) vs. Xavier Fouka-Pokum (185)
-Nathan Quarry (186) vs. Jason MacDonald (186)
-David Loiseau (185) vs. Ed Herman (186)
-Mark Bocek (154) vs. David Bielkheden (157)
    -T.J. Grant (169) vs. Ryo Chonan (171)
-Matt Wiman (155) vs. Sam Stout (155)

Didn't realize Hardonk was nearly 20lbs heavier than Kongo.

so do they count the weight he has for the metal shit in him or do they deduct the weight when he weighs in? Quarry being able to fight again is huge especially with his injury. I thought his career was over.
