Seems a bit low for the mileage. I am actually looking to get an E36 M3 sedan in a couple of months, and from the market I have come across cars range anywhere from 10-20k depending on mileage and mods. All ways a few outliers.

You can't really relly on blue book prices for them either as the rarity of certain models and the demand pushes up prices. Check the maintenance history and take it to a shop for an inspection.

Also, check the M3 forum at bimmerforums.com as they have a buyer's guide if I remember correctly.

We just gave someone $12k for their '99 with ~100k miles at work.

You probably want to have a couple of grand on the side for repairs at that mileage. Even if you do your own work, parts are pricey.

    For reference I have a '99 M3 with 48k miles - cost $24k two years ago in Chicago-area.

BUY IT. I've had my 95 M3 for many year and very happy. At just under 110K miles. Runs like a beast!

ps. E36's SUCK the big ass of your grandma in the snow.

I am sure without, anything with snow tires will do surprisingly well.

BTW. I just bought a 97 boston green M3 with 85k for 12 grand in VA/MD region. Clean car as well. If you look well enough you'll find a good deal.

To me that price seems about right. Have either a knowledgable mechanic look over the car first, or just go and get a PPI or Carfax hisory report done. I would definitely make sure you have some money left over after purchase for some repairs that may come up with a 125k mile car.

Sounds about right, I found my 99 E36 M3 for 13k about 6 mo ago. Bone stock, cosmo, 5 Spd, with Black Vaders, and 90k. The car is pure joy to drive.
