I currently have a 200 Mustang GT. Owned it since new. I have about 75,000 KMs on it and never had a days trouble with it. I have a steeda lowering springs and a nice system in the car. It is black with the dark grey cloth interior.

This car is my daily driver and there is nothing wrong with it other than I am extremely bored with it.

I have been looking at a 97 C5 that is being sold locally and I am in a dilemna. There is a silver on black leather c5 coupe with 80,000 KMs on it at a dealer. It is advertised for a 26K CDN and I am sure they are negotiable with the new c6's being out.

Is it worth me going to an older faster car, or should I stick it out with what I have.

FYI, my bro went from a 97 cobra to a 97 c5 and loves everything about the c5 other than the fact it will never replace the sound of a mustang.

    What would you do?

I have, me and bro would frequently convoy in the summer places and switch cars. They feel wayyy differant. Not much to compare when you take the hartop off of the c5 though in the summer.

I like that, dont have to take people with me if we are going places. I hate having my buddies sit back there and make a mess!

    QC??

My bro had an oli pump issue. Parts arent expensive and between my dad and him (they do all the work on our cars) I shouldn't have to worry about labour.

My concern is tries, brakes being so dayyum expensive.

I'll take a C5 over a Mustang GT any day of the week and twice on weekends.

I would honestly really consider getting the C5. My gf's father has an Admirale Blue '94 C4 with 22,xxx miles, and a '02 C5 with the same, and when i drive those, its inexplicable. My friend drives a '98 GT, and though you dont own he SN95, I would still think the difference is night and day

It is... I am concerned about general upkeep. The other thing is the c5 is soo low that I could barely get into my parking at work, I have done it before in my bros car, but it was pain in the ass.

The interesting thing is the 5.7 Litre LS1 is better on gas than the modular 4.6!! My bro gets 400-500 kms a tank, I barely get 300!

still 250 a tire! I looked into it.

My bro says I should do it without a doubt! Get a c5!

My dad says I shouldn't - his words are "they are shit cars, you should get an c32 AMG Mercedes"

I guess my main question is does the c5 equate to the $10,000-$15,000 in price differance etc.

If it were car for car, the c5 would be in my parking space hands down.

Had an '01 C5 for two years, and it was flawless. I wish I had never sold it.

However, I would try to get a '99 or higher if I were you.

    For fun, the Vette.
However, for a daily driver the Mustang. I just can't imagine driving a Vette every day, too impractical and I'd be too worried about leaving it in a parking lot wherever I go. Plus, taking on the insurance and a car note. Pay off what you have then save up and buy a 2nd fun car.

looks like I will go check out the vette. It will be a daily driver, insurance won't be afftected really... maybe a couple bucks here and there.

My mustang is payed off completely, not loooking forward to going back to payments, but I can manage.

    Thanks for the opinions fellas!
