On Wednesday I attended a track day with Hotchkis Performance. They were testing a few cars, but mostly they were there to test and tune their Porsche 962 for an upcoming event. I brought out the R8 and got some track time in that, along with a Hotchkis MINI Cooper S, Lexus IS and various other machinery. I have been a fan of 962s since I was a kid, so it was incredible to get up close to the car and be standing on the pit wall while it was lapping. The sound, the speed just everything about the car is incredible. This particular 962 had not been driven in several years so everything on it was still being broken in. By the end of the day they were running almost race speed. Some of the other cars present, you can see the R8 hiding a few back.
