Guns are packed, according to the fagtastic airline restrictions. Bike is in storage with the rest of my furniture, breaking down the X360 and the network last. Flight leaves on WED at 1350. Unfortunately, the S12 and the CZ52 are not making this trip just yet, they're locked up and staying until I have them shipped up. Jeep left last Monday. So close.

Anchorage. Definitely going to party at Dutch Harbor, at some point, though.

Having been scorched in deserts across the world for Mother Green, I figured I'd see how the other half lived.

I see, well bring a jacket. It hasn't even snowed yet, but it's been chilly this week. Dutch is gonna be pretty boring, especially this time of year. Let me know if you have any questions.

Have fun! My Mom, Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin live in Anchorage. I love going there.... just not during the winter when its fairly cold and always dark. I prefer the spring time.

Cliffs on the regulations on guns in checked luggage?
I'm in AZ for school, going home to MA Dec 15-Jan 15, was going to take my remington 870 and my remington 700 and my S&W 22-A (handgun) back here to AZ. I have my Massachusetts FID card which makes me legal to own the shotgun and rifle, but I don't have a permit for the handgun in MA, but my dad does. In AZ I'd be legal to possess the handgun, but I'm 20 so I couldn't get it from an FFL, but I should be ok to just pick it up at the baggage claim, right?

And I'll actually be flying out of New Hampshire where IIRC I would be legal to possess the handgun without a license considering that I'm 20 and have a clean (enough) record. Will being 20 be a problem with taking my handgun to AZ if I'm flying out of NH?

are you moving to AK? or just out there for work or something?

I plan on climbing Mt. Denali within the next 5 years... so I'm definitely jealous. Not sure I'd want to LIVE there though...

TSA and airlines are completely irrespective of state and local laws. Airports are federal entities. You declare them, fill out the inspection card, check the bags, you let TSA inspect it...that's it. You get off airport property, state and local laws apply. Call your local LEO office and inquire about that.
