topic says it all. which do you think is better and why?

im wondering which of these cards i should buy.

i can either buy a 9600xt or a 9500pro. the 9500pro is about $220 new. i could also get it used for like $160. think its risky to buy a used card? is it worth the hassel to buy the used card over the new xt? (read: is it that much better that it would be worth it to hunt a used one down?)

That is a ripoff, you can get a 9600 Pro for under $150, also, 9500 Pro does not support DirectX 9, so it is already out of date...

    9500 pro is a directx 9 card...

thanks for the link partyboy...looks like the 9600xt is about neck and neck with the 9500pro now. and its cheaper. looks like we have a winner.

oh, and the 9500pro is so expensive cause its a better card than the 9600pro, and its discontinued.

go with 9800 pro. 300 bucks at bestbuy and it includes halflife2, so you figure 250 bucks for the card. It doubles the performance of both of those cards.

that wasnt an option. i dont have 300 dollars to spend on a video card. obviously if i did i would buy the 9800 pro.

the 9600xt will be around 180 plus free hl2 so it comes out to about 130...130 is a lot less than 250

9500 pro's are also expensive because most of them can have their bios flashed into thinking they're a 9700pro and work fine as 9700pro.

The XT series are also supposed to be coming with a coupon for HL2. $40-50 value there.
