my moms boyfriend has a mustang v6 convertible. he was going to sell it but decided to keep it and play with it and let me do what i wanted with it.

the v6 is a dog. so what drivetrain combos drop in with little to no work to make them fit?

would a 5.0 or 4.6l drop right in?

Sell it and buy a GT. Then you'll be way ahead of the game. Otherwise a 5.0 would swap in pretty easy assuming you find a wrecked 94-95 you could scavenge for parts.

Remember that dropping in a 5.0 would require you to change all of the suspension and the rear end, as well.

    j/k

As posted above, a wrecked GT donor car would be a goldmine. I'd go this route if the car was extremely clean. The V6 can be upgraded of course (might be a blower kit available, for example), but then you contend with a driveline full of 'weak links' that might not handle the increased power.

    .

there is nothing you can do to the v6

and unless you know what you are doing, engine conversions arnt exactly easy, especially when a 5.0L itself is nothing special.

Not only that, 5.0L SN95's are in the 4-5K range, they aren't exactly expensive.
