Cant afford a whole new rig for a while but I'd like to upgrade from the A64 3000+ I'm running now. I'm stuck between getting an X2 4200+ vs an Opty 165. Any comments?

what are you running currently? If it's a 939 it's probably not worth a cpu upgrade, honestly.

if you overclock, get the 165
    if not, the 4200+

The 3000+ is running @ 2.4 now so yea I'd probably OC its replacement.

don't upgrade. leave it alone and save the money for either something else, or a new rig down the road.

So going to dual core is not going to make much of a difference? I dont game much anymore, but I do run multiple apps quite often. If I could have my way I'd just buy a new Intel setup but I need to buy a new truck soon so a new rig isnt going to happen for two years probably.

just save the money for your truck, or a nice truck accessory, such as LineX.
