    Just started a workout routine...had my bf measured by a trainer and all of that jazz. He said I should shoot for 15% or so while gaining muscle. Put me on the meat-potatoes-beans diet.

    damn im 6'1 also, i couldnt imagine me being 160 or below...4000 calories plus and lift my man

    although having alittle bit of bodyfat doesnt make it such a disaster if you cant eat.

    I was told by a trainer this week do no overhead movements, that is shoulder press, pullups, overhead tricep extension work, lat pulldowns, etc etc.

    fucking idiots most trainers are.

    How exactly did he measure your bodyfat?


    Your goal should be minimal bodyfat gain while putting on weight.

    this also, if it was one of those handheld electronic shits, add on a couple % because those things are a load of bullshit.
    clippers or water test are the only credible tests amirite?

    as long as you eat and lift youll put on mass, if you eat and eat you will get fat. just work hard and make sure your form is right before you dip into heavier weight

    Yea it was the handheld bullshit. Yea, I want to keep it as simple as possible. Before meeting with the trainer, my plan was to eat 3500+ lean calories a day. I'm not going to try to hit a certain bf% because that seems silly to me...as long as I get the results I want and am not fat, who cares?

    Those handhelds are nowhere near accurate. So don't sweat it

    for shizzle. had 3 scoops of cytogainer/oj smoothie, 3 scrambled eggs and pb toast for breakfast :bigthumb:

    will have pb sandwich an hour before lunch (chicken breast + brown rice + baked beans + cantaloupe)

    true that. If I made a timeline of my bulking over the last 3.5 years it would show how dumb it is to bulk for numbers on the scale. started out in march of 06 at a skinnyfat 155lbs @ 6'4"... "bulked" to 195 in 8 months without lifting any weights... cut down to 180 and started lifting heavy in february of 07.... gained consistently to 230lbs in may of 09... now I'm 220 and getting leaner, but I'll have to cut to 205 in order to lose all my womanly hip/ass fat and spare tire... that's a lot of time spent as a skinnyfatty or plain old fatty just to get to a somewhat lean skinny physique

    i need the weight for size, but i refuse to have any sort of bodyfat like that...

    i was much leaner at 180 tho
