I think the price range of those will tighten up after a few weeks, especially after the supply builds up some.

hopefully. I wonder if the gts and gtx were sold out when they were first introduced.

I bought it anyway. It's definately better than my 7950 gt ko and it comes with crysis.

I remember the same thing happening when I got my 7900GT card. Same with everything these days.
And sometimes Newegg is even worse than some of the other vendors like mWave, Clubit and Zipzoomfly.
But I figure by the first week or so of December or so, we should be seeing the prices come down.

How does eVga's setup program work?

Do you buy the card from a retailer first, or do you have to send your old one in for the replacement?

Not sure Doc. I skimmed over their FAQ and saw this.

Q: Does EVGA offer cross shipping for the Step-Up™ Program?
    A: No.
EVGA does not offer cross shipping for this program.

That's not a whole lot of info but it sounds like they need to have the original card before they send out the new one.

Damn. Sounds like you wind up not having a working build while you wait.

That's the way I read it.

That's what I hopefully plan to do. Just want to wait until close to my 90 days and make sure whatever is out will be worthy of extra $.

Probably not a bad idea to have a spare sitting around anyway.

On the 8800 series, just like the 7900 series, it goes GTX > GT > GTS.
