It died this morning on the way to work (it's my roommates car), this is what happened:

    1. Started from a dead stop (red light)
    2. Turned onto road, car started jerking slightly (Almost like it was out of fuel?)
    3. It happened through second, and she shifted to third, and it stopped jerking
    4. Pulled into gas station (She thought it was out of gas)
    5. Put in gas, tried to start: the tachometer goes up to about 2000 and then jitters and goes back down to 0, under the hood you can hear the relay click for the starter, and then there is just a buzzing/dead whirring sound.

Could the jerking somehow have burned the starter up? I wasn't driving so I don't know exactly how it felt.

Yup, sounds like a fuel delivery problem. also check for spark.

Actually, after looking more into it this past weekend, it was a dead alternator, and the car was running off the battery (hence the problem making power).

Replaced the alternator and all is well :bigthumb:

    thanks for your suggestions though
