I've had my 30D and 85mm 1.8 for about a month and after shooting with it for a while, it always seems like I'm way too close to frame the shot I want. Plus this lens won't focus at less than ~3ft. which is kind of irritating.

Should I keep this lens and save up for a 5D? or should I sell it and get the 50mm 1.4? It seems like Full frame will solve all of my problems because my 17-40 f4L doesn't seem quite wide enough for interiors or architecture.

85mm on a 1.6x is fine.... all depends what you shoot, though. Only you can answer that question.

changing your lenses would be cheaper than a 5d :dunno:

have your photos thus far been worth your investment in camera gear? would spending money on a 5d make your results several thousand dollars better?

its an awesome lens, but just depends on your needs. I like tight crops, so the 135 or longer is even better for me.

I wish nikon had a 10-22, so since you're on canon, just get it and stop asking
