    recently traded my 135 f/2 for an 85 f/1.4

i borrowed a friend's 85mm before mine arrives in a few days for an event yesterday/last night.

here's a few samples. I really enjoyed it, focuses much faster than my old 85mm f/1.8 AF-D. I didn't shoot it @ 1.4 much, but its damn pretty damn sharp @ 1.6 and 1.8

nice pics - is teh WB off on 3 or is it getting close to evening? It just seems like it would be warmer.

    :nono:

It impressed me, as I said much faster than my old 85mm 1.8, and faster than my old 50mm 1.4 and 1.8 af-d. probably the fastest focusing non-af-s lens I've ever used. doesn't really compete with my 24-70, 80-200 or 400 2.8 though, as expected.

Thanks :) I used a little flash on some of them throughout the day, like #1 and after it got dark

the 135 just wasn't sharp enough for me :run:

    :h5:
That was closer to evening for sure. I went from shooting at ISO 200 to ISO 3200 in about 1 hour :eek3: that one was probably in the 1000-2000 range.

Thats my next really big purchase. If i could be without a 2nd body, i would sooooo get rid of the d300 to help fund it

Do it, you could produce magic with that lens, if there's one person whose shooting style could make the most of it, it's you :bigok:
