I love my 80-200. I cannot possible see how $1000 would be worth the difference, but then again I've never used a 70-200.

What are you going to be using it for?

Plus, there are rumors of a 70-200 VR II

If you're going to spend the money at least wait for the new version.

Or maybe the VR I price will drop a little too.

I also like my 80-200. Unless i'm bringing in a ton of cash for my pics or something I can't justify paying that much for a lens.

I'm not a fan of the single ring push/pull model.

Check it out and see if you like it. Price is right though...

it's neither. It's the pull push model.

I looked at a couple of em and passed til I found an AF-D.

It's pretty sweet so far. I'll really put it to use at AirVenture 2008 in Oshkosh, WI later this month.

I got the same one. LOVE it.

    crystal clear, fast, ridiculious build....

I actually feel like I have a little growing to do in order to use it to the best of it's ability.

i'd get the 80-200 over the 70-200 because after using the 70-200, I didn't find the cost of it to be worth the benefit.
