I have a JL Audio 8W3v3-8 which is 8-ohms. How do I hook this up to my home receiver?

Yes, it will work. Though an 8 in a large room wont give much bass.

I remember when I thought "why not hook up my car audio sub to my home theater setup?"... then I realized it was silly. If you're looking for something custom, build a DIY box with a proper home theater sub. That 8w3 will give ya some bass in your bedroom, and that's about it.
