I often see people posting things about how say 5-7 (pick appropriate fan boy) rounds is all anyone could ever need. Sometimes it does a little good to read about the way things can really go down. Please note that his hit rate of 40% if perhaps double what many police see during a shooting. I would suggest that only 1 in 5 hits actually hit anything worthwhile. A g27 would be empty, a g26 1 shot from being empty, a snub revolver empty long before he was done shooting. Do you carry reloads and are you proficient with reloading? Adding one more guy to the mix can sure change things.

Nice point Soy, carrying extra mags and being about to reload them quickly and efficiently is very important.

In my CHL class they told a story about a police officer who was carrying a wheel gun, and a woman came at him with a knife. He put six rounds of gold-dots into her torso before she reached him and she still cut him up. He lived but needed over 200 stitches.

Only time I only have 5 rounds on me is in the car to and from work, but even then the glock is in the center console. I keep the revolver in my pocket in case I have to get gas or something similar.

And just so no one feels the need to post this in the main:

The guy was a cop, has lots of training, you're not a cowboy, best to just give the guy your wallet, insert retarded reason here, blah blah blah. /typicaloterresponse

you should just carry a box of paper clips. they do about the same damage and you can have a lot more.

Must not have been a Sigma. :mamoru:

This is the reason I didn't buy a S&W 642 for pocket carry, I am not comfortable with just 5 rounds. My PF9 only has 8, but it's still better than 5.

9 if it's the USPc.45. 5 if it's the j-frame. But if I'm carrying just the j-frame i wouldn't be able to carry anything else, so 5 is better than nothing in this case.
