79 Mustang Mach 1

    Guy is selling it for 8000 or best offer. Brand new exuast system. I dont know anything else right now. I'm planning on calling tommorw.
    Any one have any experice with these cars? any help would be apreacited. This will also hopefully be my first car.:hsd:

    i like the early foxes. i dont think there was a mach 1 though. i think they stopped that with the II's

    Don't buy it. You can get a 90-93 Mustang which is FAR superior for about half the money. The '79 Mustang V8 only has 140 horsepower and the 7.5" rear, instead of the 8.8" in the later cars. You could get the 302 V8 in 1979, but it's not the HO model and it's only a 2bbl.

    I'd LOVE to have a '79 Pace Car, but as a first car, and an only car, it's not a good choice. I also have never heard of a Mach 1 later than 1978.

    my friends mom is getting a Mach 1 similar to that restored, it has a 351 cleveland, numbers matching/first owner :)

    72 Mach for 8 grand? Looks in decent condition outside, assuming the engine/interior are just as good I'd say yes.

    I agree with the last few comments. $8K for a '79 Mustang = no way. $8K for a '72 Mach 1 in decent condition = buy now.

    I'd definitely go over it with a fine toothed comb though, since it looks like it's been messed with (side pipes).

    $8000? That better have a PERFECT body and interior (but it doesn't). So yeah, don't buy it.

    i definately would, considering its probobly the only 79 mach 1 in existance.
