who/what are your choices this year?

    http://www.oscars.org/77academyawards/nomannc/index.html

linked is a list of the nominations...

this year it's all about Kate Winslet for me. Eternal Sunshine and Finding Neverland were movies of the year imo:wiggle:

i was disappointed to see that Garden State didn't make the list, but to each their own:hs:

I think the biggest snub was Paul Giamatti from Sideways.
He was really good in that role.

Overall, I am hoping MDB does well.

Yeah I can't believe Chuch got it over Giamatti. I am just glad Passion and F9/11 were not up for best picture.

Haven't seen Sideways, Million Dollar Baby or The Aviator yet. Only the Aviator is playing here...so I'm patiently waiting.

My favorites this year so far are Ray and Finding Neverland. I'm glad Johnny Depp has been nominated 2 years in a row. I would love him to win, but Foxx looks like the fave this year.

I really hope that Schoonamaker wins for Aviator, she is the best editor i have ever seen. It's sad, cause Mary will probably win this year, and in the history books this will be his oscar winning movie and not Raging Bull

I am thinking that Hilary Swank will win for Best Actress, and that The Aviator will win Best Picture, Scorcese Best Director, Portman Best S. Actress, Incredibles Best Animated....some great contenders this year IMO

Foxx will win. Ray wasn't great but his performance was. Aviator deserves something.

I really hope Jamie Foxx wins for ray. it just seems like a role that deserves it. he definitely deserves the award over any of the other nominees. Di Caprio has a decent bone to pick though.

Saw the Aviator yesterday and also rented Eternal Sunshine this weekend.

Thought Sunshine was interesting and I need to watch it again tonight....I was trying to entertain company when I watched it the first time.

The Aviator, however, was not my cup of tea. Leo was good, but nowhere near Foxx or say, Denzel in Training Day. All I kept saying (and my boyfriend echoed my sentiments) was..."how freaking long is this movie?"
