I am looking for a lense with a little range and was wondering which lense is better, the 70-200 F/4L or the 70-300 f/4-5.6? I know you can get a 1.4x extender for the 70-200 to increase its range, but is it worth the extra cost? Which has better image quality? Do any of you have examples of pics taken with either of these lenses? Thank you for your replies.

If you get the 70-300 I will personally come over and kick your ass

Its horrible quality, build and is slow

the 70-200 is part of a 70-200 series of lenses from Canon that are the best mid-telephoto zooms ever built.

    There is no comparrison.

If you need to see examples, go Here for the 70-200

Here is the shit the 70-300 does

If your'e picking between the 70-2 f/4L and the 70-3 IS, the 70-2L is a much better choice. :)

LOL, you seem a little excited about that lens.
I was just like that when I was waiting for my Sigma.

Good choice. And if you find that you need the extra distance get a Canon 1.4 converter and you will end up with a 280 f/5.6 that will still be better and sharper than the 70-300 is.

70-300 even with IS is crap.

70-200 f4L is easily one of the sturdiest pieces I have set my hands on. It has NEVER and I repeat NEVER let me down even at f4 its pictures are crystal.
