According to information from Autocar this week, apparently BMW is moving to redesign various aspects of the 7-Series due to criticism from dealers and customers.

Key elements of the redesign are:
    • Thinner headlight assembly
    • More pronounced kidney grille
    • Re-profiled bumper with new shape air ducts
    • Subtle reworking of boot-lid to make it less obvious
    • Re-profiled rear bumper and valance

Also there is likely to be changes to the interior, with the adoption of the more user friendly iDrive system from the new 5-Series and the movement of the steering column mounted auto-shifter.
Autocar suggests that it could be on sale early next year, whilst BMW has stated that it wont be avaliable until at least 2005. Whichever, it at least means BMW are making Chris Bangle address the errors he's made.

Front and side look good, but the ass is ugly as sin. Looks like it was taken off a WRX, distorted, and slapped back on. Everything else looks pretty good.

I like it. The regular 5 is ok but I really like the new M5.

And what would be wrong with that? :big grin:

The standard 5-series really isnt growing on me at all. The new M5 maybe, but I'd want to see official pictures of the finished article before passing judgement.

The new 5-series is sub-BMW. It just looks cheap.
