discuss pros vs cons looking at a 6920 buddy trying to convince me that a m1a is the way to go
They're pretty different rifles. What are you looking to do with it?
plink hd shtf basically a all in one type of deal owned ar's before and loved them
For that I'd choose the AR. Cheaper ammo, greater modification potential, easy to get parts.
AR is better for what you want.
The M1a's are kind of a pain to work on and scope. Mags are expensive, ammo is expensive. I like the AR-10 if going 308.
As far as the colt 6920 check what size pins it comes with. From what I understand they switched december 08 to a standard small pin. I would much prefer that over they gay large pin that is/will be harder to get parts for.
Everything for the M1As are 2-3x more expensive and harder to get than it would be for an AR15
voted for the AR
I never really understood the warm/fuzzy's associated with the M1A platform myself. Just seem like an expensive and limiting platform to be (for the same reasons Yar suggested).
i like the 6920 its what im going for.
the m1a was a turn off since its a longer rifle and i heard its a bitch to get 1 min of man and the use of specialty tools and such
