What's OT's opinion on the release of this? Lowest price is $229 right now for the AGP. Will it drop down to the $170 the PCI-X Cards are soon?

    It's already out, huh?

I would definitely go for the PCI-e because of SLI. But that's just me.

    aye, I just got a P4 550 (3.4GHz w/HT) and an Intel D195PBLL for $199 total :) I'm looking at the 6600 256MB / 6600GT 128MB / X700 256MB.

    any opinions?

Newegg bundle ? That's a nice price. Link?

Whatever you do, invest in a 256MB card as the developing trend with games are more textures.

unfortunately i don't have a board that supports pci-e and it's not really worth it for me to buy a new board. actually i don't even think they have pci-e boards out yet for my processor..

That bundle is actually Intel's retailedge bundle (for people who get 7000 points in the training quizzes (very easy to do) and work at a retail store like Best buy, compusa, circuit city, fry's) Normally the bundle is $850 for XP Pro, P4 550, and Mobo but we get it for $199 :)

I won't play games enough to spend another $120+ on the 6800. And ati sucks, their drivers are horrible, and their linux compatibility is non existant. I'm not buying it for a linux os at the moment but I don't want to screw my self out of it in the future.

My current card is a ati 9600 aiw pro fwiw

:werd: I will always go w/ nVidia for this reason. Their driver support is 8x what ATI's is.
