I started working out mid-October and used a routine I chopped together to get my various muscles stronger.

Here's a screenshot of the excel file I use to keep my progress in all exercises: www.hootpie.com/strengthgainsexcel.PNG

Short version of my gains (everything was 3x8):

    Bench: 30lb DB's -> 70lb DB's
Squat: ~65lb -> 155lb (I've only been squatting for 2 months, big mistake on my part)
    Deadlift: 95lb -> 295lb (3 rep max, I normally rep ~265)

I'm 6'3" and I was ~202lbs when I started, I weighed in at 216lb at the gym today. I'm about the same size as before, but I have less body fat and a lot more muscle. I also lost a couple of inches off my waist.

No pictures of my legs because there isn't enough change to warrant pics.

I'm still nowhere near where I want to be, but it's a start (we all start somewhere right?). I just switched to christophers routine this week because I really want to improve my DL and squat numbers (especially my squat rofl). Also, my posture has improved quite a bit.

Edit: I forgot to mention my diet and supplements. My diet hasn't been very consistent...some days I eat like I'm cutting, some days I eat like I'm bulking, and some days I'm eating around maintenance. As for supplements, just a multivitamin and fish oil.

I'll throw in my numbers from the first day of christophers routine as well:

    reps x weight

    Squats:
    5x115
    5x135
    5x155
    5x175
    4x185

    DL:
    5x135
    5x185
    5x205
    5x225
    5x245

    Flat bench (DB's):
    5x40
    5x45
    5x55
    5x60
    5x65

    Incline bench (DB's):
    12x55
    10x55

I see a tiny bit of progress. You look slightly bigger in the new pics. Keep workin tho.

Lol at no bicep. But looks like you are off to a good start with your lats. If you slimmed your waist they would stick out well.

I know about the biceps :hs:...I was doing a lot of wide grip BB curls and stuff like that and the "inner" bicep is huge compared to the "outer" bicep. I'll eventually work on some closer grip BB curls and/or preacher curls to get some sort of peak. I'm not too worried about the biceps...nowhere near as worried as the spring breakers at my gym.

If you're pulling 295 I'm pretty sure you can squat more than 155.

i wouldnt be happy with those numbers and progress after 6 months.. time to kick it up a notch. your lat spread looks good though. :bigthumb:

edit: reading your chart is really confusing.. 295lb deadlift but 65lb shrugs...:squint:
get some straps if you cant grip it well, shrugs are a piece of cake.

This is hootpie posting off a friend's name.

My progress is mostly in the numbers.

Bobert: I haven't been squatting as long as I've been pulling and I've always had weak legs.

The shrugs are DB weight per arm.

There isnt a ton of visual improvement, but your lifts look like they've improved a lot, and if you get your diet in order you'll look great in no time.

good improvement on lifts. need to be honest with yourself about diet, are you counting calories? very small improvement on bf loss, for the amount of time you've been at this it doesnt seem like you're making good progress.

I know that visually there isn't much change, but that's not what I was going for. I desperately needed to add muscle and increase strength.
