Quick question guys, is the modified Bill Starr routine good to do when cutting? I imagine low rep compund lifts are more ideal for bulking, but i'm just a beginner so please enlighten me!

    Thanks in advance

no rountine would be "bad" but it might not be optimal. I have no comment on how effective it is or what would be more effective though :hsd:

Of course not, but I was under the impression that everyone calls the "Christophers" routine the modified Bill Starr routine...

    +1.

When cutting I often do not have the energy or means to repair when doing those ridiculous recommended 15rep sets and such. When cutting I actually like to keep with moderate reps on most exercises ranging from 5-10 reps as I change the weight.

I guess it all depends on how you feel and what cal/carb intake you are cutting at.

Just don't expect the weight to be where it was. If you're in a calorie deficient state both your strength and recovery times will be effected. I usually make up for this with a rediculous increase in volume and it comes back to bite me in the ass.

Maintain the same intensity. The 5x5 will be fine when dieting. Just don't kick yourself if you see your numbers going down.
