Hey guys, i was wondering what the RMS for the 500/1 jl audio amp is. I know the amp itslef says 500 RMS but i heard it can push more than that, around 1000 RMS, thats what some tech guys said here in my town. But if anyone knows the real RMS for this amp please let me know... Thanks

It was tested by 2 different car audio mags, I believe it was rated at a little over 600 watts @ 14.4 volts.

The sidebar with the specs pretty much speaks for itself. The 500/1’s adaptive and tightly regulated output appears to work quite well, providing about 600 watts into resistive loads under a wide range of test conditions. The amp also seems more than happy driving reactive loads and posted an impressive 733 watts into 2 ohms
