i have the 85L but i want something just a bit wider. in indoors and tight spaces the 85 is just a tad too long on the 50D. i got the 24-70 but i want the 1.2

Get a full frame body and the 85 will get "shorter". Plus you get to take full advantage of the f/1.2 razor thin DOF. :coolugh:

Ok dude, sell the 50D and buy 5D2 already. And 50L won't be nessesary anymore, and you can save your money for 400L 2.8 IS.

Those lenses you have deserve better.

I have it and so far I love it. I haven't shot anything super critical with it yet though, so :dunno:.
I haven't heard of a backfocus issue, but you might mean the focus shifting. Something about the plane of focus being different @ f/2-2.8 than it is at f/1.2, so where the camera/lens AFs isn't where critical focus ends up being if you stop it down to 2-2.8. I'm not sure if mine has that problem yet as I haven't really tested it extensively, but it's supposedly a well documented issue?

well i guess if i sell the 50D and not buy the 50 1.2 that would almost cost the same as buying the 5D2. Maybe i should do that. that would still leave me with the 17-40, 24-70, 85, and 70-200. i am still thinking of getting the 24TS i love that effect.

Get the 5D2, trust me on this, just sell the 50D and get it. You will be not be disappointed, specially with the lenses you have

I have one, but not sure how to test for BF issues? I'd seriously look into the 50 1.4, as I don't think its worth 4-5x the price of the 1.2.
