Who appointed the judges for 112? I'm guessing that Abu Dhabi doesn't have a fight commission

 I've never seen anyone talk about nothing for so long before. Hell I never even made it to the end, did he end up actually giving a reason? :bowrofl:

Yeah he gave a two sentence reason at the end of all that bullshit. Basically saw Edgar dictating the pace, being more aggressive, and landing 'better' shots.

This guy is fucking ridiculous. You know he is loving this attention right now.

Actually his reasoning is solid, even if I disagree with his take on the fight. Personally I scored (while watching) it 48 to 47 for Penn but it easily could have been 48-47 Edgar. I think it was a fight that could have went either way. Neither fighter was truly dominant.

The guy seems personally biased against Penn right from the start. Either that or we've got a new Tim Donaghy in MMA.

Wouldn't have mattered if it was [insert abysmal 155 lber here] against Penn...in this moron's eyes, the other guy would've beaten Penn had the fight gone to a decision.

Homie probably thought GSP took the first round in GSP v. Penn I.

"Edgar dictated the tone of the fight, successfully implemented and executed a strategy, landed better strikes, and basically outworked Penn. And that is an interpretation by a ringside observer with an understanding and appreciation of MMA, who has Judged numerous (hundreds) of fights. I re-watched the fight in my hotel in Abu Dhabi and saw nothing that would influence me to score it any differently."

    Perfectly legit and valid reasoning.

especially when both Dana White and Frankie Edgar himself said that he didn't win all 5 rounds right after during the post fight presser

Subjectivity, based upon that particular judges viewing angle. Judges (unlike referees and fans) are stationary, you only get one particular view. It is entirely believable from his vantage point it looked to him as if Edgar won all 5 rounds. Also in a 10 point must system there are no tie rounds, you have to award one fighter the round. I'm not saying I agree with his opinion but I understand and respect his methodology and reasoning.

Ummm no I am not. Are YOU a certified Muay Thai, MMA or Boxing judge? I am. If you like google it.

    From wiki

"The 10-point must system is a method of scoring a fighting match (e.g., boxing or mixed martial arts (MMA)).

Under the system, the judges must give the winner of a round 10 points, and the loser 9 points or fewer. A knock down usually results in a score of eight (8) for the boxer who was knocked down, and ten (10) for his or her opponent (provided, of course, the knocked-down boxer gets up before the end of the count and finishes it). A judge may occasionally award a 10 - 8 score if the round's winner is obviously dominating the other fighter. If the fight progresses through all scheduled rounds, the sum of the scores for each round are tallied for each judge to determine the winner of the match. If unable to continue the fight before that number of rounds has been fought, the fight is ruled a "no contest." If a fighter loses points by committing fouls, or a round is judged as without a clear winner, this may result in awarding an equal number of points to each fighter, so even with an odd number of rounds and an odd number of judges, draws are possible. Each foul usually costs one point, and is determined by the referee."

    from boxrec.com

"A system of scoring whereby the winner of a round must receive ten points, and the loser of the round nine points (eights points, if knocked down; seven points, if knocked down more than once and thoroughly dominated by his opponent). If there is no clear winner, each boxer must be awarded ten points. Note, however, although a boxer may win the round, he can lose a point by committing a foul, in which case the round likely would be scored nine points for each boxer. "

When following the letter of the rules there are no TIE rounds. Wikipedia would have you believe that in MMA this is legit, it is not.
