What was the last year they put the 5.0 in a Stang?

What kind of imes did they run stock? How much to get it into the low, low, low, LOW 12s (on drag radials)?

    It was 95 wasn't it? 4.6 debuted in 96?

I assume you can't make good power easily with a 4.6?

Wasn't it the first year of the SN95 body, I think 1994?

    Edit: okay '94 and '95

I had a buddy in college that had a 95(?) GTS, which was a 6-banger body with a V8. He said it was the 5.0.

That's why I'm asking. I know they yad ONE year of hte SN95 with the 5.0...

Power might not come as easily, but IIRC the 302 wasn't exactly a behemoth in stock form either. You could boost it and get something like 450-500 crank hp stock but that's about the limit. The Modular (4.6) has a lot of aftermarket parts for it though, so you can make power from it.

    :)

Can you make decent power on the mod motor, or is the 5.0 the real platform?

Have the parts gotten cheap a sshit to build 'em up to 500HP or so?

92+ or just the 92? And why did they put in forged internals?

The only boost I'd consider would be exhaust-driven. :o

Are 92/93s really forged internals?? :eek3:

It started mid-92 from what I recall. The best year for Fox Body Mustangs is 91-first half 92, w/o Hypertech.

For 5.0's that's probably the best option anyway. www.turbomustangs.com has a lot of info on it.

It won't be for a while.

    Just doing some research. ;)

The RX7s are too pricey. I'd need 12k at LEAST to do that, just to procure the car.

I can pick up a fox body for 6-8k. MUCH more do-able. :embd: :hs:
