nothing superb, but I'm glad I finally got some decently sharp shots from my 75-300 IS (bird shots)

the sunrise is the kit lens. Thoughts on any?

nice shots...i was thinking about getting the 75-300 but not the IS...how fast of a shutter speed would i need if i was going to hand hold? 1/300 for 300mm? Are the optics the same for the IS and non-IS?

I'm not sure of the actual quality difference in the optics :dunno:
This lens so far has only produced very sharp images under extremely bright light (up around 1200 + shutter speed) but i'm sure its just me not knowing how to use the lens properly. I'm just starting, this is my first SLR style camera

i dont think you need IS for 1200 shutter speed...i heard you can go down to 1/75 and get pretty sharp pictures with a 300mm and IS
