until I get my hands on my very first firearm. Damn that 10 day waiting period.

    Springfield XD9. :hsd:

But the best thing about this... my girlfriend wouldn't let me leave the gun store without purchasing a gun. I love the support she offers

    Is that HiViz Front Sight?

If it is I have few questions:
    1. Is it the same dimension as your stock front sight (important for holster choices)
    2. Can you just replace the tube that illuminates, instead of the whole thing, in the future?
    3. How difficult is it to install?
    4. Is it worth getting a set of night sights that replace rear sight as well ? (If you have experience with those)

    Thanks :big grin:

can't use blazers in an XD? That increases the price of practice quite a bit :(

No, that's a Dawson Precision front sight.

    1. Yes, but you can get them taller too. I always do a little honing around my guns and usually take the edge off.

    2. Yes, fiber optic rods are a couple of bucks and you have enough material to replace them for life. You just cut them in half fron the sight, slide them out, cut a new piece to fit, slide it in and take a lighter and melt the front in place. I've never have one shake loose or come off without me taking it off.

    3. Difficulty is relative to the users mechanical experience. If you can hold a tap in one hand, and a hammer in the other, and have a little patience, it's cake. I change all of my sights out on my own.

    4. Most of my guns are for competition and I don't use night sights for any of my game guns. If you are looking for a good "hybrid" of both fibers and glows. Check out Tru Glos Fiber Tritium sights. My buddy's got it on his XD9 and loves them. They truly "pop" in the day light, and at night they are very bright.

My 1911 runs Blazer aluminum more reliably than anything else I've shot through it in a long time. I just got some WWB for cheap so I'm going to try that again but Blazer brass misfeeds all the time. I got no problems with Blazer. :o
