Well its finally time for me to stock up again. I'm looking to get a 1k round case. I don't reload so I'll probably end up going with wolf. The lacquer coating on brown bear just sounds :ugh:

This is the cheapest I've found so far at ~$0.25/rd

    Can anybody beat it :x:

    Thanks WMD :wavey:

well, this doesn't apply to you, but if anyone is interested in the cheapest quality brass cased ammo, Palmetto State Armory has PMC at $330 a case, I got charged $15 for shipping.

damn after all the obama shit, it's like they are giving away ammo now

  4. Any experience with that HotShot branded brass cased stuff from Century? It's South Korean, and just under $300 per 1000.

Hot Shot used Igman and Privi Partizan as sub-contractors before.

I'd guess that this new batch is made by Poongsan Metal Corporation, aka PMC. Buy a case and we'll find out :bigthumb:

I'll probably just keep buying PMC to get brass consistency

good thing we have our Asian SME on the case

PMC ammo is like, OK - but with Hornady Training being so cheap and Prvi being more available, I won't be buying too much more. PMC is really dirty and REALLY underpowered. Like, barely hotter than Wolf. The only good thing is you get good brass. If you are buying it to unload it the fun way and keep the brass, you should buy something like BVAC - they load on LC NATO brass and the ammo is loaded to M193 specs and comes in an ammo can. It's also 100% made in America.

that's a really good price on Wolf, good call

buy the Hornady anyway, $40 over an entire case is a drop in the bucket in terms of performance, I shot like 900 rounds of the Hornady shit last weekend and really liked it; I've probably shot 30 or 40 cases of Wolf and I'm never going back. The Hornady ammo is hotter and more consistent and it also doesn't smell like urine when you shoot it.

For the price of hornady training ammo, I'd get the brass cased stuff and sell the once used brass for $75.

I'd have to pick up my brass :wtc: but $75 of cost offset would make brass ammo a lot more affordable.

BVAC is also significantly more expensive than PMC.

Did you chronograph the BVAC, or have a link to someone who did? I never managed to chrono it, but assumed since it was reloads, it was loaded slow

It's pretty  but I can usually find lower prices... it's an awesome market indicator though.

The only person I know who shoots match grade stuff is a big reloader. I don't think he'd be interested but I'll ask.
