Get a 5.45 AK if you don't have one. Heres the first thread about it...
    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=3671128

Report: Ran like an AK. Sights needed adjusting. Not one hiccup.
I only got to shoot it at 15-25 yards, but then again, I didn't have sight adjustment tools. ~300 down the pipe.
Now the photos, Taken by a fellow OTer.

PS: I see how low my rear plate is in the back. I'll adjust that tonight.

I train like I fight...! I figure its better than just wearing it while I chase my cat around the house. Also, it's fun to play dress up. I have steel plates in there from these guys http://www.bulletproofme.com/ , so the extra weight is also a bit of a workout.

You should see how the Hunters look at me as they sight in their shotguns... with a glint of envy in their eyes, thats how!

roll the dice Century Wasr2 300$
Really solid build, nice finish rifle 500-700$
This Tantal 450$ or so from Southern Ohio Gun.

Sure... lemme see what I can find
    Mid to Upper Class 5.45
    http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/listview.asp?CatId=2
Tantals and other more bargain AK's (fit and finish can be lacking, sometimes they dont function 100%, and you have to send em back, but they are very good about returns/exchanges)

This is where I found the best price, but you'll have to call for this price, as it's not on the website yet.

I also get my ammo from CenturyArms, or RGUN, or AIM. Check freight charges.

Did you get the sling with the gun? Also you pull the rifle toward your shoulder when using forward grip (or magazine as a fwd grip)?

Thanks for mentioning about the sights needing adjustments, I got the same AK coming and I need to pick up that tool. :h5:

np on the sights, I actually just took a punch and whacked it sideways for windage, the elevation tool however, is worth havin!

I used the mag as a VFG.

Also, I like to run my AK with gloves, they get effin hot!

ETA: ALso, I made my sling. I kinda like single point slings the most. It needs some work, but the improvements would require a sewing machine!

I know you're not supposed to. Maybe it doesn't matter with kevlar gloves, but I keep my off-hand on the forward grip. If you're holding onto your magazine and you get a kablooey say :wavey: to your fingers.

who needs fingers, and AK failures would likely go through the weakest part of the reciever (dust cover or up and over the bolt carrier). Its WAY faster to have your hands on the front handguard for transitions, but I was just shooting at a single target.

Ar's tend to fail through the magazine, but even then, it seems the floor plate of the mag blows off. I might be wrong :dunno:, either way, I generally use gloves.

Around here at least, with the other people that go to the range, you would too.

Does your tritium still glow in the rear sight? I thought mine was dead until I pulled it out and it was kind of dark out and was surprised to see it was glowing lightly. I wish I could find a source for the vials, it would be pretty neat to have working night sites on this thing.

I think the bulb on mine is broken, I see a crater where it should have been. all my radioactive leaked out in poland somewhere. Yeah, a nice glow would be nice. Post if you ever find a source, and I'll do the same. I'm thinking about putting big dots on it. I'll have to see.
