5.1 surround on macbook?

    I've been searchign for hours and i can't seem to decide what to do about my surround sound situation. I have a Macbook and im hooking it up to my TV so i can watch movies, but i also have a home theater system that i want to take advantage of, Would anyone know what type of external sound card i would need to do so, and/or if i would actually need one or would the audio output that is on the macbook be sufficient.

    The SPDIF (optical) output of the internal soundcard can pass-through Dolby Digital or DTS, no problems. In fact, the audio on the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini is quite capable.

    You need one of these types of optical cables, minijack on one side, with Toslink on the other.
