Well i was reading that the original 1.83ghz CoreDuo macbooks only support 3gb of ram? Has anyone found a way around this? or am i still stuck with only 3gb.

I've only ever known the original CoreDuo Macbook to use a max of 2 gb of RAM.

I think the Rev. A allowed for 3gb (although it wasn't advertised as such) and then every successive revision allowed for 4gb of RAM.

Wikipedia has a section on this. You can also check on the crucial website.

    Rev B - 3gb max - shows 3gb

    Rev C - 3.3gb max - but shows 4gb

    Rev D - 4gb max - shows 4gb

    A - 1.83
    B - 2.0
    C - 2.16
    D - 2.2

If I recall correctly. As stated before however there is a Wiki on this.
