I want a big ass revolver now. I want something that is just big and mean and fun as hell to shoot. I'm thinking an XFrame .500 (4" of course). I've been reading a bit about the .460 and some people seem to like it more than the .500. What do you all think?

Yes, this is just for fun. It's not for home defense. It may be for hunting. Yes I'm going to buy more ammo and training, please don't worry yourself about these parts.

Oh, and you can reccomend other huge caliber revolvers too. I'm not a fan of >5" barrel though.

If I were shopping for a revolver to shoot some massive round it would probably be chambered for .454 Casull.

Take a look at gunblast.com and make sure to look through the archives. They have great reviews of lots of the wickedly powerful revolvers.

No. The training will be with my USPs. The 460 or 500 will be for FUN.

I've fired a .460 actually. It felt like the world was ending. 4 or 5 full grown men giggling like schoolgirls because of this thing.

Ruger is making a Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 Casull or .480 Ruger.

Yeah. This is the one I'm thinking of getting. God help my wrists. The MR 45-70 looks like a lot of fun too though.
