I'm about to bulk order from one of the websites in the 'where do you buy your ammo' thread and it seems wolf is often the chepest - and I also think I remember being told at somepoint not to ever buy wolf - how bad is it? or is it

It'll be pretty dirty compared to other manafactuers, but its ok for plinking purposes. Should be fine unless your shooting it out of somthing that doesn't like getting dirty.

It's also steel-cased, which I understand some firearms don't care for. Aside from that fact and its dirtiness, its greater inaccuracy seems to be the only other big downside.

its pretty shitty... i bought a box to try and mixed it with some CCI brass blazer... it makes that shit look like perfect handloads in comparison. its a light load for starters, even shooting with the subcompact glock, recoil is non existant compared to CCI. plus, its dirty as fuck. i wouldnt buy it again... the cci is cheaper and local.

the gunsmith I go to told me when I got the upper for my AR to never shoot that shit through it or he'd flat out refuse to service any of my firearms. lol

I went back to his shop to shoot the shit a week or so later. He showed me some AR barrels that had gouging in the barrel due to wolf ammo. Now I'm paranoid to shot the stuff.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Its dirty, cheap, and steel cased. Not good depending on what kind of firearm you've got. If you don't mind shopping at walmart they have cci blazer brass in .40 for 9.97/50 round box. YMMV

You guys aren't instilling a whole lot of confidence in me. I have 500 rounds of Wolf for my AR sitting here.

Its fine. I shoot nothing but wolf out of my guns while at the range, and have never had a problem.

I don't own an M4, but if an assault style weapon can't take dirty ammo, then it doesn't deserve to be used in combat. I don't want a gun thats gonna fail because my ammo fell in the mud or is a few years old.

Shoots great for me. Yeah its dirtier, but I haven't had any quality issues.
I like it. Some ranges won't let you shoot it though, brass only. :greddy:

thats so they can sell that brass to reloaders, who in turn fuck you over on prices of reloads. my range sells reloads of .45 for fucking 30 dollars a box of 50!!! THIRTY FUCKING DOLLARS FOR SHIT ASS RELOADS!!! pisses me off so much.

Or they are reloaders themselves and want to reuse YOUR ammo.

    prolly georgia arms

Eds isnt like that, but I wont go on weekends since some newbie always sweeps everyones brass forward for them. I know they are trying to be helpful, but it is annoying having to explain that every time.

All I shoot out of my USP45 is Wolf, it works very well for the range. I don't give a fuck if it messes up my gun in 20 years, I'll throw it away and buy another one.

Any range that forbids steel-cased ammunition because it interferes with their brass collection revenue stream needs to invest in a freaking magnet - which will cost less than driving away those that use steel-cased ammo. Makes me wonder how they deal with CCI Blazer - they forbid that too?
