cliffs; 9mm and .45 were doing just fine, .40 was not necessary.

I wonder if the bullet had to go through the headrest first before hitting her weave.

I'll take "several intermediate barriers" for $500, Alex. Also doesn't say whether the bullet was JHP or FMJ, whether it expanded early on and slowed down, whether it was just a miracle, etc.

My guess is, it went through her rear window and her headrest.

    Your mother.
i am sure it had nothing to do with the bullet having lost energy going through something before hitting her "weave"

This is why I went away from .40 and traded up to a P220.
I've got a handful of dug .40 that did rather unimpressive damage to some boards compared to my .45.

Even since i found a .40 fmj bullet laying on the ground after my buddy shot it, still in perfect condition (probably could reload it) I was glad I got rid of mine.

    Too snappy and too weak.

Yeah, well . . . I may have to re-assess my standards. I need to make sure that FMJ .45 will penetrate a nappy weave.

  20. Depending on what you're shooting into it's not uncommon for bullets to suffer little or no deformation. I've found lots of nearly perfect bullets in various calibers in the course of shooting matches. It's nothing to do with the power of the .40

  21. We're compiling some good info here. We know what rounds work against melons from a couple of days ago, and now we know that we can use .45s to defend against boards.

I'd like to collect some data on milk jugs, wet newspaper, and maybe a dead prostitute. Just in case.

Well, according to that video .40 doesn't seem to work terribly well against a LIVE prostitute, if you head-shot them.
