#1- Use some fucking common sense when handling firearms

    There, I win.

  8. :ugh:

that #4 is fucking retarded.. I dont even use the safeties on my guns.. some guns dont even have a safety. if every gun were treated as though it didnt have a safety, people would be safer. :gtfo2:

You CAN'T squeeze the trigger with the safety on, so one action necessarily HAS to follow the other. They cannot be simoultaneous. On an AR/M16 platform, though, it is as instinctive and natural as you make it. The key is practice. I, too, make safety control of my rifle a subconscious action. If the finger is on the trigger, safety is off. Finger off the trigger, safety on. It's that simple on an AR.

But if you carry a DA/SA with a decocker, or a DAO, safeties are irrelevant. Unlike a slung rifle, there is no real chance that a sidearm might get the trigger caught on gear or obstacles, so your finger becomes the safety. Safeties on pistols are also often difficult and awkward to manipulate.

If memory serves, he was in the service.. and 'Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire' is gospel in the military. You get caught with any weapon anywhere not on safe and you get ripped a new one.

If you're talking about me, no, I have never been in the service.

#4 is the only one worth mentioning...especially the "what's behind it" part.

    1. All guns are always loaded.
    2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you're not willing to destory.
    3. Keep you finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target, and you've made the decision to shoot.
    4. Be aware of your target and your surroundings.

Talking about dazed, who you quoted.

Carrying any weapon not on safe around a military installation is a quick way for NJP at the very least, and to get taken down by a range officer at the worst.

10-4. I figured that's what the context was, but I didn't want anyone thinking I was prior service when I wasn't.
