You're very lean in both pictures, but I don't think you're 5% in either picture.

to judge progress you should be doing the same pose in each pic

Looks good, similar poses would be better though. Congrats on clearing up that nasty condition on your face.

  5. first pic, i was measure by submersion at PCOM (philadelphia college of osteopathic medecine) at 5.3 percent bf. at the beginning of june.

second pic was taken at the end of october, so it was actually 6 monts. jumped the gun on that one. in that pic i was exatly 10lbs heavier. i weigh myself everyday at the same time. it was accurate.

i agree, my posing can be better, but still good gains.

    more comments please.

Good progress, and you look 5 % in the first pic. Looks like you made some solid gains. What is your height and weight?

You do look like you put on more than 10bs... it could be the pose but impressive nonetheless. That's the kind of bulking I'd be interested in doing.
We have similar numbers in the lifts too...:bigthumb:

  14. yeah, for the most part, very clean. i am very lean by nature, so it is hard for me to put on weight. i upped my carbs a lot, and protein for sure. held steady for an average of about 5000 cals a day for about those 6 months. i am very active, so i do burn a lot, but up a lot from my normal 3500.

i basically didn't really bother to mind what i ate, but i eat very natural, no fast food stuff, or battered/fryed. so yeah, i guess you would say clean. i don't consume hydogenated oils, or high fruitcose cornsyrup as well. that is a promise i made to myself 3 yrs. ago, and to the best of my knowldege, i have not broken it. hard to tell now a days though.

basically ate a lot more than what i normally ate, but pretty much the same stuff. lots of whole wheat or soy pasta. tons of chicken, lean beaf, turkey, cattage cheese, portien shakes, yogurt, sandwiches, tons of veggies.

    supps.
    protein shakes: 3-4
    BCAA
Green Tea - i make it, not pills
    multi vitamin

    Extras
i throw ground flax seed in just about everything as well as protein powder
    cook with olive oil
    lots of whole oats /fibers
eggs and real meat as much as possible
i never hold back when at a restaraunt!!!

key to what i have done so far...
    1. Work out like a MF
    2. Ate

  15. also, i guess i should note.... i am at the end of my bulking..period!! i am now going to lean out and try to retain as much muscle as possible. i will certainly post a couple of pics in one month when i weigh 5 lbs. less.

it was hard for me to bulk "mentally" perhaps some of you out there may know what i mean. i feel like i have been successful, and i wanted to share my results:x:

Yep. I posted a thread before comparing which was harder...bulking or dieting. I was surprised that there were others that found bulking to also be more difficult.

Why not start a journal for the month you're cutting?
