Did a tune and 4.10's this month on my 03 GT Automatic. It feels like a whole new car now, and the mileage doesn't seem to be that much worse. I noticed a 10 mile drop in the tank, thats all. Well worth it, anyone who's on the fence about gears, get them.

I'd go 4.10's in my Chevelle, but alas they don't mix well with a 3 speed w/o O.D. if you want to drive on the highway :eek4:

4.10's are too much in my GT due to the amount of power it makes. Naturally Aspirated, 4.10's are a great choice. Now you just need a shift kit :)

I love the 4.10s in my 6-speed Firehawk even though they are too much off the line with my new motor.

I cruise at 70mph taching right around 2000rpm. :bigthumb:

I'm still debating whether to go 4.10 or 3.73 on my blown GT. Still runnin the stock 3.23 (or whatever they are) gear ratios. Would 4.10's really mess me up? It's a twin screw so it's not like I'll lose boost at lower RPMs due to often shifting.

410s are good for autos, but standard should generally be 373s. i have heard that 410s could cause you to run "out of gear" in the 1/4 and actually hurt your times. i have 373 in my steeda and stock gears in my roush(i dunno but my rpm at 70mph is only 1800rpm)

410s make you shift to 4th in the 1/4....otherwise you'd bounce off the rev limiter.

4.10s are good for auto or stick, although a 6 speed would greatly help out with longer cruises. That or re-gear the transmission. I had a set in my '01 GT and I loved the acceleration, but I hated cruising with a dumped exhaust.....interstate driving was very annoying, but you didn't have to drop to 4th to get up and go.

I prefer to develop engine torque rather than using gears. ;)

4.10s are better for sticks than autos... especially 6-speeds.

I don't think I'd go with 4.10s with a power adder. It's hard enough to control wheels spin with a power adder let alone throwing 4.10s in the mix.

3.73s for me, so that my car can move from a stop, still great on the highway though.

I can't decide if I want a power adder on this car or just cams. If I do a power adder it will be a Kenne Bell 6lb kit, probably won't happen for a while though. I have the parts to do the J-Mod shift kit, just need someone who can put it in... probably will do it with a torque converter.

up next on my list is lowering springs, blower pulley and 315's. i agree, dont go with 410s with a blower. my stock gears are just fine the way they are.
