... and one in the Jeep. It just dawned on me as I was driving to the gun store. Is that bad?

Sig P228 in MTAC and a Kel-Tec P3AT in front right jeans pocket. CZ-52 in the Jeep. I carry the P3AT at all times, and it was the first time out with the Sig in the MTAC.

One thing about the Sig is it's so damn wide. I can't tell if i'm printing, or not. It doesn't look like it, but my hip is obviously wider on that side with the Sig. Any way to adjust the MTAC so it's not so wide? or position it? I have it with a pretty forward cant as is. Good news is that the MTAC is pretty comfortable with a sweatshirt and jeans on. Carrying the P3AT is no problem, and I often forget i have it with me, but I don't think I'll ever get past having the P228 with me on my hip. I'm still trying to get used to moving around and not looking like I've got a stick up my ass, while not trying to obviously print.

Anyone else have some adjustment time when first carrying?

is what bad? I guess not because I didn't see anything that jumped out at me as "bad"

even CCWs freak out when people carry 2 guns though if that's what you meant. I do it all the time :dunno:

I was talking to a Dallas cop the other day and just bullshitting about carrying 7 guns on myself at one time, and he goes "If you can carry more than one comfortable, it never hurts."

Thought that was funny coming from a cop.

in one of my handgun classes, the teacher (a cop) suggested looking into carrying a backup :dunno:

but a lot of people have a line drawn in their head where "normal" is for them. And they don't like people to cross it.

I'm not really sure if I'd want to carry two guns at a time. My Kahr and soon-to-be-mine G20 would be too much at one time, I think.

If I was ever in some really serious shit I'd carry three. a primary, a backup, and a backup backup. people don't expect a person to carry more guns than hands.

Since I moved to TX I have often wondered how many people around me are CCW.

Is there a website with stats on that?

You can try to tighten down the MTAC, but its not going to help much.
The only other thing you can do, is adjust it down a little so it sits down further in your pants, and not so high.

Honestly, I'd say a Sig probably isn't a very ideal carry gun. But its what works best for you that matters.

No, i know it's not bad as in wrong, but it may make other people think i'm crazy. No one made me, and my mother couldn't tell either, so i guess i was doing ok.

the idea of having the cz-52 in the jeep at all times is because it's a heavier penetrator than 9mm or .380. Capacity is diminished, but it's more powerful. I figure most times i'll just be the .380 on me, but when i got out, and wardrobe and location permits, i'll strap on the sig. It was comfortable, even sitting down, just big.

maybe you should switch to a commander style 1911? plenty of power, decent capacity, and slimmer than a Sig.

it's all personal preference, besides if you ever have to use it and the situation permits or warrants it you could always hand a gun over to somebody that you trust with it.

I thought about something slimmer, like a kahr or some other slimline polymer, but I don't have the funding at this time, nor do i live in a high threat area. I feel comfortable with the firepower of the P228. 18 rounds on tap in a compact handgun is a formidable defense, and if I can't get it done in that many, I should stop trying, or I'm doing something wrong.

why do u say that? i carry a heavy ass 229R daily in an MTAC and it doesn't bother me. i don't really get the weight argument. i'm only 5'10" 160lbs too.

yeah, i don't have a problem with the weight, with 15+1 of the P228, but it's the width that it adds to my waist line that worries me of printing.
