I seem to have a problem getting a decent score in 3DMark. My score came out to only 832 and I can't figure it out. Here's my system:

    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
    1Gb pc3200 ram
    NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT PCIE

For a 6600GT I would say that is normal, after looking at AnandTech's test/review it.

They are using an AMD 64 FX-55 and their 6600GT only scored a 1701.
Remember the 6600GT only has 8 pixel pipelines and only 3 vertex shaders.

I've got an AMD XP 3200+ and a 6800GS AGP and scored 1979.
It's all about the pipes...and shaders.

i hope that's it, it's been driving me crazy
but, i did find out that i'd forgotten to install the chipset drivers from nvidia (although it didn't really help my score)

that score is way low, should be 1200 minimum. uninstall your video drivers and your chipset drivers. reinstall your chipset drivers (chipset always before video card) then reinstall the most current WHQL nvidia drivers- 8.1.9.8

not mine but you see what i mean- http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=30960

    thanks for the tip guys
i did find out that my chipset drivers weren't actually installed, so that was probably part of the issue
when i get back home, i'll try your tips and repost my score

which would be better though? the omega drivers or 81.98 whql?
