Looking for an LCD to mount in my bedroom wall. Want HDTV, mostly will be watching TV and DVDs. Absolutely no gaming or connectivity to PC. Any suggestions? Want to spend around 1k...:x:

not going to happen with a 1k budget in the 37-42" range.

I don't want a plasma. The aquaos is still avaible online I believe. And isn't the westinghouse just a monitor? I would like built in tuner, so I can get OTA HD channels.

research the vizio. I have absolutely no experience with them or have read reviews, but you threw out the notion of "budget" so there you go.

are the prices justified? I'll spend more if let's say, it's worth 2x as much as a vizio

I thought as much. So as far as budget LCD, what'd you recommend? My little brother is in the same boat. He wants an LCD Tv, but at a strict budget.

ViewSonic and Westinghouse seem to be the universal "budget LCD" response.

I picked up the Bravia V series 40" back in Jan, it's 1080P and I like it. Well worth the money IMO.

if you're "budget" shopping the Vizio is much better than Westinghouse. Look at who you're talking to when he recommends shit.

Samsung makes the best LCD's right now. My girlfriend has a Samsung 40" LCD and it's gorgeous.

westinghouse isnt bad at all..and is a good value for gaming.
for his applications however, the panasonic noted above would kill it.

I just purchased an Olevia 537. For a budget minded tv, I like it alot.

I think the picture and color are real nice.
