Alright i have about $3500 to spend on a sportbike. Im familiar with motorcycles and have ridden dirtbike my whole like (since age 10). I want to get something that looks sporty and that i wont get bored of. I only want to get a 600 cc tho.

What bikes are good bike that i would be able to find in this price range? Anyone have any classified site that i could check out?

So far i really like the

GSX-r's. Dont really know much about the CBR's cause it seems confusing because of all the F3, F3, RR, Etc....

    Thanks

If you have yet to ride extensively on the street, GS 500E for a season, sell it, and then buy something else.

YZF600r. You can get them pretty cheap if you get an older one (98-99) or a FZR600, which is the YZF's predecessor. It’s a sporty looking bike, handles great. It fast but not too fast and is very forgiving. Overall, it’s a great 1st sport bike.

Suzuki SV650. Amazing bikes. Forgiving enough to learn on quite well, but ballsy enough that when you want to push the envelope you easily can. These bikes handle like they're on rails, and with a few easy mods (jetting, pipe) you can really pull some power out of em and throw them aroundin the upper RPMs. To be honest, if you even check out your local tracks, I'm sure you'll see more than a couple of them being raced... I think they are one of the most popular track bikes. DEFINITELY look into one of these.

Oh, and if you are DYING for the extra sporty look (as opposed to more of a sport tourer look), you can even pick up aftermarket full fairings..

Check out www.svrider.com to see pictures of these bikes, pictures of what they can be made to look like with aftermarket plastics, pics of racers on them, and generally just read up on them.

Is this $3500 for bike only.... or does the $3500 have to cover bike, insurance and gear?

    3500 isn't all that much when talking about a 600cc bike. . .

you won't get anything that is legit or looks 'sporty' as you put it. . . maybe an older, early 90's F2/3/4 or Ninja. dont know the costs on a early 90's yzf600r or gsxr, just shop around. now is the time to buy though.

$3500 is for just the bike only.

Notorious wants $4000 for the bike he has pictured above? Thats near my price range and looks like a decnt bike.

Is that nice to you Liquid?

as for the F3, what are the details on the bike? year? mileage? damage? maintenance? crashes? etc. .. it all affects the cost.
