I made a light box. Here's the setup:

5 pieces foam board ($1.99 each)
2 Shop Lights (about $7 each)
2 Natural Light Light Bulbs ($5 each)
    Total: About $35 dollars.

Sample (with pshop editing of course):

Made this for my photo class. We had to shoot a "How-to" project. I figured, I might as well 1)Make something I could actually use 2)Play into the professor's interests

Here's the link where I found the tutorial.

Not bad for $35 bucks :o. I want to get more lights, though. Maybe 2 smaller ones. They didn't have the shoplights when I was at Home Depot.

looks like a good result. now you have to make some diffusers to go in front of those lights. You can use fabric (someone else will advise).

another option is to use a white fabric for the walls, that way the lights can shine through at any angle and will also be softer..

I was also going to suggest a diffuser. But be careful, my dad happens to have those lights (and has for like 15 years, haha) and they get ridiculously hot.

Yes! I love that one. That's my favorite of the natural one and then my favorite soda flavor is Crushed Melon :yum:

I've always wanted to do something like this... I don't know why I haven't gone out and done it yet. I'm quite handy at stuff like this.

When you say the 1st picture is photoshopped does that mean you shopped out shadows created by the 90 degree angle at the bottom of the box? How exactly do you get around this?

that is actually very cool! you can cut small squares out of the sides and use some kind of cloth or other material to assist with difussing the light and mount the lights there.

remember kiddos, when lighting glass you are looking for big soft highlights (usally) and to get big soft highlights u need big soft light source.
